The Groove Kitchen and Music Room - In The Groove
JUNE 2008

Hello and welcome to the sixth edition of “In The Groove”, the Groove Kitchen & Music Rooms monthly newsletter. Looking back over the activities around The Groove Kitchen in May it is hard to imagine things getting more exciting and vibrant than they have been. However, June is shaping up to be exactly that. The new spring menu has been very well received. Thanks in part to our Dave FM restaurant review, the dining room has been a buzz with the smells and conversations surrounding the new creations. We have also been cooking up some fabulous entertainment for your enjoyment. With music icons such as Dave Larue (Bass Player for Joe Satriani) and Wendell Furguson (7 time winner of the CCMA’s guitar player of the year) gracing our stage in the coming weeks, there are some events that you will not want to miss ! . The house band, Matt Storch and The Usual Suspects had a very successful CD release party in May and have continued to entertain every Friday night

The “Artists Wall” at the The Groove Kitchen has become the center of attraction for anyone with an appreciation for the arts. The right combination of food, drink, music and art can create a very powerful cultural experience. Local painter Laurie Wonfor Nolan, local musicians The Heathens and the Toronto based trio Mr. Rick and The Biscuits proved that on Saturday, May 17. The Heathens worked their magic early in the evening and set the scene for Mr. Rick and The Biscuits to take the stage while Laurie captured the moment on canvas as she painted the bands performance throughout the evening. Great job to everyone involved. This is exactly the type of setting that The Groove Kitchen was created for. Learn more about Laurie’s work at www.lwnpaintings.fotopic.net

Word On The Street

As hoped, The Groove Kitchen & Music Room has become a place where people can experience something more than just a great meal. Our intentions are to make you feel at home and provide you with some of the finest entertainment that the region has to offer. Here is what people are saying about how well we have accomplished that goal.

"Congratulations Matt, John and Girls! The Groove is the place to be if you love great food, fantastic atmosphere and love music. A new and different alternative to the chain restaurants in town! Try it once and love it forever!"

"The Groove Kitchen and Music Room is a fantastic place because it appeals to everyone's love of great food and great music. I felt instantly 'at home' and wanted to bask in the ambience and take a break from the 'everyday'. It's an 'out of the way' place that gets you 'into the groove'. I know that Matt, and his amazing crew of musicians and restaurant staff, will do very well in this community. They are already creating quite a buzz. I'm wondering if they will soon have to consider a bigger place!"

"The Groove Kitchen is the perfect balance between fine dining, a casual atmosphere, and musical environment. The combination of amazing food, great service, and the best entertainment in the city is what keeps me coming back time after time. This exact atmosphere has been much needed in Cambridge for some time, and now that it's here, I know it will continue to thrive!!"
